Tickets

We look forward to welcoming you in our museum again. Our main priority is making sure you can have a safe and fun museum visit. We have implemented the following measures to guarantee your safe and fun visit to our museum:

  • The rule to keep 1.5-metres distance applies in the entire museum. Our special museum route will guide you through the whole museum. A limited number of people can be in the museum at one time.
  • The Tsar Peter House adheres to the hygiene and safety protocols laid down by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), the government, and the Netherlands Museum Association.
  • Stay at home if you are displaying symptoms of a possible infection with the virus (a cold, sore throat, or fever). You can rebook your tickets free of charge. If you come to the museum while displaying symptoms of a possible infection with the virus, then we cannot grant you entry to the building.

Route description

By car

From the direction of Amsterdam
Follow the A8 motorway from Amsterdam towards Zaanstad, and take the exit for Zaanstad-Zuid. Follow the signs to ‘Zaandam Centrum’.

Parking

You can park at the Rozenhof multi-storey car park or at the Zaantheater car park. Both car parks are just a few minutes’ walk from the Tsar Peter House.

By train

Leave the train at Zaandam railway station and walk to the Tsar Peter House (approx. 15 minutes). Walk via Gedempte Gracht to Dam. Then continue to Krimp along the right-hand side. The Tsar Peter House is at the end of Krimp.

By bus

From Amsterdam Central Station: take bus number 392 or 394 to the centre of Zaandam, alighting at bus stop Gedempte Gracht. Walk to the Tsar Peter House, which is just a few minutes away.

Accessibility

The Tsar Peter House has limited access for disabled visitors. The stone shell around the house and the on-site presentation are reasonably accessible; the wooden house is not accessible to wheelchair users and wheeled walker users.

Disabled parking

A few paid parking places are available directly next to the Tsar Peter House, however, these are not official disabled parking places.
