Admission charges

Visit the Zaans Museum with the Zaanse Schans Ticket. With this ticket you can visit several museums and windmills for a day. You will also receive a digital interactive map and audio tour.

At the Zaans Museum you can only pay by debit card or credit card.

Museum Café

The stunning view across the typically Dutch landscape with its panorama of windmills makes a visit to the Museum Café a real treat. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea with a slice of freshly-baked cake or savoury snacks.

Accessibility

Parking

The Zaans Museum is easily accessible by bicycle and public transport. Within walking distance of the museum, you will find Zaandijk/Zaanse Schans station and a bus stop. Motorists can use the Zaanse Schans car park. A fixed daily rate applies. Check here for the current rates.

A number of parking spaces in the Zaanse Schans car park have been reserved for disabled parking. These are located close to the Zaans Museum.

Motorhomes cannot park at the Zaanse Schans.

Public transport

Zaandijk-Zaanse Schans station is within walking distance and the bus stop of bus line 391 from Amsterdam Central Station is next to the Zaans Museum. Children up to 11 years of age travel free on this bus line.

Accessibility

The Zaans Museum is accessible to the disabled; there is an accessible toilet and all floors can be reached by lift. Unfortunately, wheelchairs with large or elevated seats may not fit in the elevator. Entrance is free for carers. Assistance dogs are allowed inside.

A limited number of wheelchairs are available in the museum. You can book a wheelchair by calling on +31 (0)75-6810000 or by sending an e-mail to info@zaansmuseum.nl.

The Zaans Museum was founded in 1998 on the Zaanse Schans to guard and preserve the Zaan heritage.

The Hembrug Museum tells the story of the arms and ammunition factory that was located on the Hembrugterrein in Zaandam.

In 1697, the Russian Tsar Peter the Great stayed in this world-famous house in the center of Zaandam.
