Remuneration policy
The Board of the Stichting Zaans Museum foundation is unsalaried and does not receive payment for its activities. The valuation and salaries of the employees of the Stichting Zaans Museum foundation are based on the salary scales of the Municipality of Zaanstad. These are applicable to employees of 23 years and older, otherwise the legal minimum wage is applicable.

The Zaans Museum was founded in 1998 on the Zaanse Schans to guard and preserve the Zaan heritage.

The Hembrug Museum tells the story of the arms and ammunition factory that was located on the Hembrugterrein in Zaandam.

In 1697, the Russian Tsar Peter the Great stayed in this world-famous house in the center of Zaandam.
