Zaanse Schans Museums
At the Zaanse Schans, the Zaans Museum manages three external locations: the Weaver’s House, the Cooperage, and the Jisper House. Pretend you’re back in 1850!
Weaver’s House
Discover everything there is to know about the traditional Dutch craft of sailcloth and windmill cloth weaving at the Weaver’s House on the Zaanse Schans. In the eighteenth century, two families lived in the house right between the five looms.
Cooperage
At the Tiemstra Cooperage you can see how vats and barrels are made.
Jisper House
The Jisper House sets the scene of a fisherman’s household in the 1850s. Here you can also have your photo taken dressed in traditional Zaan costume.
