In the TexLAB of the Zaans Museum you roll up your sleeves. Get inspired by the beautiful patterns from the Zaans Stikwerk and get creative with fabric, needle and thread in various assignments. In the TexLAB, you discover that you can still make beautiful things with old textiles.
Make your own pattern
Suitable for Age: 8+
Duration: about 20 minutes
Get to know the beautiful patterns of Zaans Stikwerk and get creative with pencil and embossing pen. Use the different shapes on the stencil to create your own pattern. Of course, you may take your creation home after your visit.
Make your own bag

Duration: about 20 minutes
Just like the Zaankanters from the eighteenth and nineteenth century, make something new from old textiles, such as a beautiful bag from leftover fabric. Cut, sew and decorate your own bag according to the pattern and give used textile a new life.
Embroidery wall
